Life is an Adventure

Over the summer, the dogs and I got into a routine; every day after I got home from work, we would play fetch in the backyard or go for a walk. They looked forward to their playtime every night and I loved having some time alone with them to unwind after a long day at work. After changing our clocks back a few weeks ago though, that changed everything. It has been dark outside before I even get home, so play time after work has been limited to fetch down the hall inside the house. With a long winter ahead, we were desperate to find a way to improve playtime after work. Then we found Nite Ize!

They had the brilliant idea to put together a kit that every dog owner needs; the Life’s Adventure Kit for Pet Lovers. Nite Ize sent us the kit to test out for ourselves and we can’t wait to share the contents and how they have changed evening playtime for the better.

The Life’s Adventure Kit for Pet Lovers contains products to help make your pet visible in the dark, innovative pet toys, and some extra goodies. The first thing in the kit to really catch my eye was the Nitehowl® Rechargeable LED Safety Necklace with Disc-o Select™. The really neat thing about this collar is that it lights-up all the way around and is very easy to cut to make it the perfect fit for any pup (I even tried it on my parent’s Great Dane and it fit!) Another important item included in the kit was a Spotlit® Collar Light with Disc-o Select™. This small but powerful light is super easy to clip onto any dog’s collar so you know exactly where they are, even when it is dark out. For dogs that are often outside after the sun goes down, it is so important to me to know exactly where they are. These light-up products make that possible.

Moving on to the fun stuff; the toys! Having your dog visible is awesome, but having their toy visible is even cooler. When the kit first arrived, I pulled out the toys and Amelia was instantly ready for playtime. Amelia usually prefers balls over every other toy, so I was super stoked to find the Huck 'n Tuck® Glowstreak® Collapsible Thrower + LED Ball. Not only does the ball light up in a rainbow of colors, but the collapsible thrower makes it possible for me to throw it far enough that Amelia can get some decent exercise.

The kit also came with a Flashflight® LED Dog Discuit™. To be honest, I wasn’t too sure how it would go over because Amelia has never been much of a frisbee dog (surprising for a Border Collie, I know). I was totally wrong though; Amelia could not get enough of it! She loved chasing after it in the dark and it was so fun to watch.

The kit also comes with a few must-haves that every dog owner needs. I’m sure most of you know the struggle of carrying a roll of poop bags and trying to rip a bag off (while also juggling a leash or two) without dropping the roll, which would completely unravel (been there, done that). This is where the Pack-a-Poo® Bag Dispenser comes in handy! This nifty poop bag holder easily clips to a backpack, a leash handle, or even a belt loop on your jeans. The best feature of the dispenser is the "roll back" design that lets you reel in any extra bags that you pulled out.

Last but not least in the kit is a set of two S-Biner® Taglock™ Aluminum pet tag holders. Growing up in a house heavily involved in dog rescue, I have seen hundreds of stray dogs and have always been a huge supporter of ID tags. Something that many people overlook though is what is securing the ID tag to their dog’s collar. An ID tag is worthless without something sturdy keeping it attached. I absolutely love the idea behind these locking tag holders and have complete faith that they will keep Pippi and Amelia’s tags secured incase they ever got out and wandered off.

Thanks to Nite Ize, playtime and adventures no longer have to fall within the hours that the sun is up. I can have peace of mind knowing where the dogs are when it’s dark and the dogs have been having a blast playing with the light up toys in the kit.
